Assignment/Project Summary:

The experiential learning interview is an assignment where students are paired up to interview each other to discuss interests, passions, and values so that each person can find experiential learning opportunities for the other based off of that information.

The assignment is split into three parts:

  • Part 1: The Interview

Students find a time outside of class to interview each other and get to know more

about one another. Following that, research different extracurricular opportunities

to recommend to the partner.

  • Part 2: Discussion Board Post

Write an interview summary that includes the partner's interests, passions, and/or

values that they shared. Then write at least two ideas for specific, targeted

opportunities/activities and explain what it is, how it was found, and how the

activity fits with the partner's interests, passions, or values.

  • Part 3: Self Reflection

Answer the following questions:

What did you learn about your own interests, passions and/or values by

completing this assignment?

What new opportunities or resources did you discover that you might be

interested in personally pursuing/using while doing your research for your

partner?

Reflections and Comments:

I had a lot of fun learning more about Lucille and exploring the UW databases for new extracurricular opportunities. I think being in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic added another thing to consider when finding these opportunities, so it was interesting to look around and see what is available. This project also gave me the opportunity to familiarize myself with the process of searching for RSOs, study abroad opportunities, and internship opportunities - all of which I hope to take advantage of once the COVID-19 virus is under control.

Note: To my partner for this project, Lucille, I am so sorry for misspelling your name! I didn't even notice until I double check while writing this post. (´。_。`)
